Back Roads and Bikes Charity Ride Poker Run
August 5th, 2006

Hometown Warrenton, Inc. hosted its first annual Back Roads and Bikes Charity Ride poker run on Saturday, August 5th, beginning from the Square in downtown Warrenton. The police escorted ride of about 70 miles covered areas Warren County and included stops at Briar Rose (formerly Come Away Plantation), Ogeechee River Mill, Kenny Norris BBQ and the Warren County Veterans Club.

The 45 motorcycles came from far and near – some as far north as Cumming, GA, and as far south as Florida. Many Warren County riders help plan the event, lay out the route, and coordinate the ride, including Russ Gray, Tony Langham, Tony Prince, Wayne Fulbright, Freddie Overstreet, Dodge Johnson, and Jimmy Hawkins. Other volunteers included Gloria Gray, Betty Ruth Dye, Billie Duckworth, Martha Jane Wilhoit, Tina Hutcheson, Brittney Hutcheson, Larry Rachels, Arty Thrift, Pam Langford, Jenny Thaxton, Denise Coard, Chuck Cumber, and Edlyn Elliott.
