An Evening of Classic Concert
Cindy Rivers leads the combined group at An Evening of Classic

If you missed this, I'm very sorry for you, because Cindy Rivers led The Chorus to assemble an evening of truly delightful entertainment. Supported by The Magellan String Quartet and The Milledgeville Singers Guild, the group presented the second of a series of performances highlighting musical periods. Following last year's Evening of Baroque, the Evening of Classic highlighted works from the sometimes unnoticed "Classic" period.

Guests found their their seats in the Warren County High School auditorium, which has very comfortable seats, and very good acoustics.
The Chorus made seats available to everyone who wanted to attend, In addition to special classes of priced tickets, there was abundant free open seating for all who wanted to attend.
Concertgoers were entertained by the Magellan String Quartet as they settled in for the performance.
Cindy rivers introduced the Chorus, Singers, and musicians, and gave a brief description of the musical period being presented.
Soloists Sandra Crawford (left) gave a beautiful performance of Ave Maria, and Shelby Rivers (right) performed Nel cor pił non mi sento.

Mrs. Crawford was formerly with the Atlanta Chorus, and now gives voice instruction in Atlanta and her home in Warrenton.
On a lighter note, but still in period, was Rossini's Duetto buffo di due gatti ("humorous duet for two cats") performed by Cissy Lane and Cindy Rivers, accompanied by David Cole on piano.
David Cole guest conducts a piece by Mozart.
Concertgoers and performers mingled after the performance while sampling delicacies prepared by local residents.
