|
...pronounced "crack", is an Irish word meaning fun, enjoyment, and the best of times with
friends. Craic
sums up the March 17th, 2007, Saint Patrick's Day event at the
Warrenton Cultural center, hosted by the Warrenton Historical
Society.

"The Best Ticket in Town"
After the dinner of Irish stew served by volunteers from the 4H
Club, the "Old Enough To Know Better" quartet provided a great
eclectic collection of songs that had us tapping our feet, clapping
and singing along, and enjoined us to get up and dance, as many did
when their favorites came up.
Historical
Society members greeted guests as they arrived, and
helped them find their dining tables. |
Shamrocks
adorned each table, and one lucky diner at each table
got to take the arrangement home. |
As
the tables were cleared, the band prepared for the
evening's entertainment. |
Introductions
proceeded and... |
The
band began to display it's amazing virtuosity. |
 |
 |
 |
During
intermission, there was plenty of time to walk around
and chat with neighbors like this young lady, who had
to take the prize as the youngest attendee. |
Another
young music lover garnered a lot of attention, too. |
The
large crowd quickly found their seats to enjoy the rest
of the concert. |
After
the concert, people took the opportunity to chat with
old friends, make new friends, and generally enjoy the
wonderful feeling of our small community, to sense the "craic",
as it were. |

Irish for "Ireland Forever"
Happy Saint Patrick's Day!
