Main Street Read

Main Street Read First Saturday, Nov. 3rd, from 10am-2pm

Join us downtown on Courthouse Square, and bring a lawn chair, pillow or your favorite stuffed animal to enjoy a good book.....being read to you dramatically by the ACT kids and adults.

There will be three different age groups: children (inside the courthouse), tweens & teens (at the memorial), and adults (on the courthouse promenade). At the top of each hour, a different book  of a different genre will be read. The reading schedule will be posted at the library, on the Chamber of Commerce window (it's there now!), and in The Clipper by Nov. 1st. There is no cost to participate!

There will be a large "BOOK" Collection Box to collect donations toward the Early Read Program, and it will be located in front of the courthouse. This is the kick-off for the Early Read-a-Thon in which Warren County students (public, private, and home schooled) will get sponsors for even as little as a penny per page!, read anything, and collect the money to go toward providing a book a month for Warren County children ages 0-5 years who are enrolled in Early Read through the Warren County Chamber of Commerce, Warren County Family Learning Center, QUOLA, or the Warren County Public Library.

Ask about signing up your child for the program and/or getting a Reader's Kit for the Early Read-a-Thon by calling 706.465.9604 or emailing events@warrencountyga.com.  Reading is the best way for children to learn, so please help in getting them started early!
