Modern Composers: Music from the 20th Century  The Chorus of Warrenton, Georgia invites the public to our 4th Annual October Evening. This year it is Modern Composers: Music from the 20th Century. The concert will be held at the Warren County High School Auditorium at 1253 Atlanta Highway in Warrenton, Georgia on October 13th at 7:00pm. Tickets are on sale now for this very special concert. Patron Admission is a $5.00 donation, and Student Admission is free. Admission is available in advance, through tickets, or at the door. We will be delving into music from the early blues and jazz era up to contemporary Christian. Our special guest is the Columbia County Civic Orchestra. The Columbia County Civic Orchestra is composed of volunteer musicians of all ages, ranging from experienced professionals to amateurs. The orchestra has been in existence since February 2008 and has performed numerous concerts within the C.S.R.A. The orchestra is under the direction of Mr. Rob Nordan. The purpose of the orchestra is to promote the musical arts and foster music appreciation, while also providing an outlet for musicians to express their musical talents. Our members include: retired professional musicians, music teachers, university music students, experienced music professionals, promising young music students, and adults who just enjoy playing good music. Maestro Robert Nordan serves as the Music Director of the Columbia County Orchestra Association (CCOA) in Evans, Georgia. The CCOA is the parent organization of the Columbia County Civic Orchestra (CCCO). He has resided in the Augusta, Georgia, area since 1996, actively serving in church music and in music education. He received his Bachelor of Music in 1978, and his Master of Music in 1982. He is also the band director at Augusta Christian Schools in Evans, GA. Scott Richardson serves as the Associate Conductor of the Columbia County Civic Orchestra and is also the conductor of the Columbia County Youth Orchestra. Mr. Richardson is a violinist, vocal soloist, and music educator who has performed all over the C.S.R.A. Currently, Mr. Richardson is the band director at Warren County High School. The Chorus is sponsored by the Sandra Crawford Voice Studio and by Mr. & Mrs. Gene Smith of Warrenton, Georgia. Donations are always welcome, and all proceeds are used for programming, including hiring musicians, purchasing sheet music and venue rentals, when necessary.
