Attention Warren County Residents:

As the situation improves following Hurricane Helene, we will soon begin conducting damage assessments across the area. To assist us in this effort, we kindly ask you to fill out the following form, providing details on any damage to your property.

Your input is vital in helping us assess the extent of the impact and prioritize recovery efforts. Please take a moment to complete the form here: Damage Assessment Form.

​Public Announcement

Due to the severe impact of Hurricane Helene, the Warren County Board of Commissioners, in coordination with the City of Warrenton, the City of Norwood, and the City of Camak, has enacted a curfew for all individuals within these jurisdictions. Effective immediately, a curfew will be in place from **7:00 PM to 7:00 AM** until further notice.

Curfew Exemptions:
The curfew does not apply to the following:
- Government officials
- Individuals traveling to or from work
- Essential service personnel

This decision has been made to ensure the safety and well-being of our residents. We urge everyone to comply with the curfew and to stay indoors during the specified hours. Please continue to monitor official communication channels for updates and stay safe.

The Warren County Emergency Management Agency is releasing the following update:
  • Food will be served at the Community Services Building for lunch. It will begin between 11:30 AM and Noon. Please be patience with the volunteers.
  • All paperwork for FEMA support has been submitted to the State of Georgia and Federal Government. Warren County has no active items to complete at this time. We are currently waiting for updates or new requested information.
  • A curfew is still in place from 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM. All citizens should remain at their residence/location at this time. This curfew is only exempt for essential personnel, government workers, and those traveling for work.
  • We are working with multiple counties, partners, and individuals to bring resources to Warren County. We will post updates when they are available. We will not release information until the items arrive to Warren County to reduce confusion.
  • Currently, Warren County is being assisted by different chain saw crews. We are working to ensure all county roads are open for travel.
  • Georgia Power, Washington EMC, and Jefferson EMC are working hard to get power restored. Washington EMC and Georgia Power have begun to connect individuals. Reminder- power companies must begin at the substations and work their way outward. If you do not see power trucks, they are still at work.

  • Those wishing to donate resources to Warren County may email [email protected]. We will contact you as soon as we can. Phones, cell service, and internet are unstable at this time.
  • Water is fully operational and all cities. However, County residents on wells will be without water due to power outage. We are working to supply water as needed.
  • If you are a farmer that is in need of water for animals, please contact [email protected] to request assistance. Please provide your name, address, email, and phone number along with information related to your farm.
  • Individuals needing bottled water may come to Community Services Building at 169 Highway 80 North, Warrenton, GA 30828. We will be able to give out one case per car. 10/1 until 9 PM if needed. Will resume tomorrow at 8:00 AM until 7:00 PM.

  • Items are being delivered to Warren County. We will work to setup distribution points soon.
  • Reminder that food and water will be available at the Community Services Building – 48 Warren Street, Warrenton, GA 30828 today 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM. MREs and Water is available now. Food should be ready by Noon.
  • Other businesses are selling food, giving items away, etc. be sure to stop by the local businesses that are open for needs.
  • The Warrenton nursing home has been a priority during this storm. They are running on six generators. We are hoping for power to be restored there today. Power is beginning to come back online. Hot meals are providing meals to the residents.
  • Red Cross should be located at the Warren County Courthouse today. We will post a time when it is available: They will be available at 11:15 AM at courthouse. Please be patient if they are running behind. 
  • Georgia Power is offering assistance for those that had damage to the pole to their house. If you need assistance, please call at 1-877-749-3931. There are some funds available for this, but unsure how long they will be available.
  • If you know of someone who is homebound or needs assistance and is unable to get out, please email [email protected]. He will direct resources to the individuals. We will need a name, address and need.
  • Feel free to begin completing applications at https://www.disasterassistance.gov. This will allow you to get ahead of the game for when the disaster is declared for Warren County on the federal level.
  • You should see an increased law enforcement presence in Warren County due to break ins. We are thankful to the Georgia State Patrol for providing this.

  • We are continuing to see items being delivered to Warren County. Today, we saw four semi-trucks deliver MRE (Meals Ready to Eat) and hundreds of cases of water. We will see more items delivered as we move forward.
  • Reminder that food and water will be available at the Community Services Building – 48 Warren Street, Warrenton, GA 30828 tomorrow, October 10/3/2024 beginning at 11:00 AM. We will continue to have more and more resources available.
  • Other businesses are selling food, giving items away, etc. be sure to stop by the local businesses that are open for needs. Please be sure to support local businesses in their times of need.

  • We were thankful to see a FEMA representative in Warren County today to review property damage. They are reviewing property damage to houses. Also, we are thankful to see representatives from Senator Warnock’s office. We appreciate their support at this time.
  • Warren County has been visited by representatives from Senator Warnock, Senator Burns, and Representative Jackson. Warren County has been in contact with Representative Allen, Senator Ossoff, Speaker of the House, and Governor of Georgia.

  • We will keep this update simple to ensure that all are aware of the services being provided. We will have food, waters, supplies, ice, and tarps at the Community Services Building at 48 Warren Street. This is the building that is for voting. Also, it is next to the library. We will begin handing out items at 11:00 AM.

  • The power companies are working hard to get individuals restored. However, in some areas it is not just repairing damage, but completely rebuilding.

  • We are beyond thankful to those that send deliveries today. Newton County Chamber of Commerce and the Newton County Industrial Development Authority coordinated a huge delivery of items.

  • We are working on locations to delivery items farther out into the County. Be on the lookout for locations and times in areas like (for example) Norwood, Camak, Mesena, etc.  
  • We have received notice that Warren County has been approved on the State level and pushed up to FEMA. We have been in contact with all federal officials like Congressman Allen, Senator Warnock, and Senator Ossoff. Be on the lookout for a Federal declaration soon.
  • The curfew has been adjusted from 11:00 PM to 6:00 AM.
  • We need more responses! If you own property, please complete the local: Hurricane Helene Response Form. You may do so at the following link: https://forms.office.com/r/8tiYgMYHtr. This form is crucial for FEMA response. They are looking for severe house damage.

  • All government offices will reopen tomorrow on Monday, October 7th, 2024.
  • The supply distributions at the Community Services Building will discontinue after today (Sunday). The Community Services Building will be needed for early voting that begins on Tuesday, October 8th, 2024. We are thankful to all the individuals, organizations, and employees who helped make this possible. We will look to stage further distributions out in Warren County.
  • Beginning tomorrow, we will transition to a response form. You may request critical needs here: https://forms.office.com/r/6ZAJGpcJ8Y or you can call (706) 465-9604 to have us fill out the form for you.
  • Rocky Branch Baptist Church is serving lunch at the Community Services Building starting at 11:00 AM till. There are several other groups doing activities throughout the community. Be sure to participate.

Warren County Emergency Management Agency

​The Warren County Emergency Management Agency (EMA) is responsible for coordinating disaster response and recovery efforts to ensure the safety and well-being of Warren County residents. The agency works in partnership with local, state, and federal agencies to develop comprehensive plans for disaster preparedness, mitigation, response, and recovery. Through training programs, public education initiatives, and collaboration with first responders, Warren County EMA ensures readiness for a wide range of emergencies, including natural disasters, hazardous material incidents, and public health crises. The agency plays a critical role in managing resources, providing real-time information, and ensuring efficient communication during emergencies.
