We're so excited to get the Knox Theatre renovated for the Community! We're working daily behind the scenes with creating plans, coordinating research and looking for funding!
The Knox Theatre was completed in 1937 by Mrs. Margaret Knox Story. Throughout the thirties, forties and fifties, Warrenton saw many different road shows, vaudeville acts, and music groups perform in this beautiful theatre. In the sixties, the Knox exclusively showed movies. It was closed in 1997. It is now owned by the county and plans are to renovate it in keeping with its historic significance and to show family-friendly movies to the general public. For more on the Knox's history, please visit the Depot Welcome Center. Help save this significant historic treasure in our community! Let's Show it Off to the World |
