Trash Amnesty DayDate: Saturday, April 26th, 2025
Time: 9:00 AM to 2:00 PM Warren County Board of Commissioners, in partnership with the Georgia Environmental Protection Division (EPD), is proud to announce a Garbage & Scrap Tire Amnesty Day event! This special cleanup effort is funded by the Local Government Scrap Tire Abatement Reimbursement (STAR) Grant Program through EPD. The purpose of the STAR program is to assist local governments with the removal, transportation, and processing of scrap tires—whether from illegal tire dumps, public right-of-ways, or community amnesty events like this one. All collected tires will be safely recycled through approved beneficial reuse processors, ensuring they don’t end up in landfills or unauthorized facilities. The STAR grant is funded through Georgia’s Solid Waste Trust Fund, which is supported by a fee on the sale of new tires across the state. This initiative reflects EPD’s strong commitment to cleaning up scrap tires and encouraging responsible environmental practices. Check back on this page often for event details, drop-off instructions, and approved tire limits. Let’s work together to clean up our community, protect public health, and promote a cleaner, greener Warren County. |
⚠️ Important Disclaimer
All drop-off activities are first come, first served. Once the designated containers or trailers reach full capacity, we will be required to close the collection site early for safety and compliance reasons. We strongly encourage residents to arrive early to ensure participation. The Warren County Board of Commissioners and EPD reserve the right to limit or deny additional drop-offs if capacity or safety becomes a concern. Thank you for your understanding and cooperation in helping us keep this event running smoothly! |
