At the annual Chamber Banquet, the children of Area Children’s Theater got a special treat. They thought that they were there just to help serve food, fill drinks, and clear tables. Little did they know that they would also be recognized for their service to our community throughout the year. As their Director, Jeffery Fowler stated, these children do many things within our community. Whenever there is an event that needs volunteers, they always jump at the opportunity to be a helping hand. It has been a long time coming for these kids got some attention and thanks for all they do to make sure events in our community have plenty of helping hands.

The annual Chamber Banquet was held on March 22, 2022. The night was filled with tasty food and conversation. Our catering was done by K&C’s Kitchen. They brought amazing chicken and ribs. We got to hear from several different people and get updates on everything that has been happening in Warren County and the city within the year. Beth Jowers gave us an update on the Warren County Chamber. Erica Dawson gave an update on Hometown Warrenton. O.B. McCorkle presented on the Development Authority. Christopher Harris gave us an update about Warren County Schools. Several awards were also given during the evening. We ended the evening with door prizes. It was a great night of networking and recognition of all the wonderful things going on in our community.
There were special guests in attendance at our annual Chamber Banquet from the office of Congressman Jody Hice. Congressmen Hice’s Deputy Chief of Staff Jessica Hayes, and his Regional Representative Greg Ziesenhene to present Jeffery Fowler with this special recognition. Although Jeffery organizes this event and is the main contact to making it a success, he did not know that this honor would be given to him. He admitted himself that it is not very often that he is speechless, but that this did have that effect. His staff and his community are proud of the things he has accomplished and for the effort he puts into his work to make our town a better place. The recognition he most definitely deserves. Warrenton, GA – On Tuesday, March 22, 2022, the Office of Congressman Jody Hice (GA-10) presented the Hice Headliner Award to Jeffrey Fowler, Warren County Chamber of Commerce President & CEO. His colleagues nominated him for this distinction based upon his strong commitment and outstanding service to the community as evidenced by his work with the Chamber, the newly formed CSRA Rural Chamber Alliance, the Area Children’s Theater (ACT), and various other service and volunteer projects. “As head of the Chamber since 2019, Jeffrey has brought an energy and enthusiasm to the organization and the greater community,” said Congressman Hice. “His friends and colleagues tell me he has the biggest heart and always the best expectations for his hometown. Jeffrey sees the big picture, helps sets the vision, commits to key goals and milestones – tapping into his natural creativity while seeking input from others. I’m told he is consensus builder, a go-getter, and an influencer who works hard to deliver essential resources that drive results. Hats off to Jeffrey who serves as an impactful community leader and a role model for the children he mentors through ACT.” Congressman Hice is pleased to recognize outstanding local citizens who go above and beyond to help their neighbors and strengthen our community. Although the event was scheduled to be outside, having to move it indoors did not slow anyone down. There were several food vendors along with arts and craft vendors. The building filled up with people who came to support our Knox Theater. People were able to purchase Knox merchandise and even enter to win a movie basket through raffle. At the end of the night, on our giant movie screen, we watched The Princess Bride.

The Screaming Devils led throughout the game, and by as many as six in the fourth quarter. Drew closed to within one with a three-pointer inside the final 13 seconds, then stole the inbounds pass. A Warren County foul sent Cedric Taylor to the line for two free throws that gave the Eagles the lead. The Screaming Devils were unable to score on the ensuing possession as time expired. Ken’vonte Brinkley led Warren County with 15 points. “This season was amazing, nobody even thought that we would be here in Macon Coliseum,” said first-year Warren County Head Coach James Jennings. “Unfortunately, we fell short. But hats off to the guys that put in work from June to now and it show. I am just disappointed that I couldn’t fulfill my duties today and win them a championship”. The Screaming Devils finish the 2021-22 season with a 25-4 record.
