Reese-Hyman Post 96 American Legion and the Burkhalter Chapter NNSDAR, would like to announce plans to relocate the World War I Monument to the Courthouse grounds in Warrenton, GA.
Shortly after the end of World War 1, and no effort was started by the school children of Warren County under the direction of the  Warrenton Civic Club to erect a monument commemorating the seven men and two women whose lives were lost in The Great War. Over the course of two years the school children of Warren County raised money, mostly pennies, and in 1920 the monument was erected in front of the old Warrenton Senior High High School on Academy Street.
The monument will be permanently relocated to the Courthouse grounds and once again history will be made by teaching today's Warren County schoolchildren an important part of our past and asking to to give their pennies to support the project.
The names of everyone who contributes will be listed in the local newspapers, as it was years ago and they will become part of our history once again

"In Sacred Memory of the Men and Women of Warren County who made the Supreme Sacrifice" WORLD WAR 1.

At Divyesh Mistry's Country Store, Warrenton Residents will find many of the same items offered at other convenience stores-beer, cigarettes, and coffee-but his freshly made subs, soups, and salads have been especially popular with customers.
On Monday, August 7th, Mistry opened Warrenton Country Store & Deli at 460 Legion Drive, the old Red & White building.  It is his third business in town; the others are Gunn Mini Mart and Chevron Food Mart.
"We have really good reviews on our food, Mistry said.  "We make our own bread."
He said his customers enjoy the convenience of having a sandwich shop in Warrenton because they can now pick up subs for lunch or dinner rather having to drive out of town.  Mistry sells various types of six-inch and 12-inch subs, including turkey, roast beef, and tuna.  Soup flavors include broccoli cheddar and tomato basil, and he offers six salad options, including Caesar, Buffalo Chicken, and Veggie.
Mistry likes seeing the looks on people's faces when they eat his food.  To offer even more options to area residents, he rents part of the building to Dean's Kitchen, a Jamaican Restaurant."  Jamaican food is really good, " Mistry said.
He had thought of opening a country store in Warrenton for many years because the city didn't have one.  The inside of the store even features country decor.  Mistry said so far, the business has been successful, especially considering it's only been open for about a month.
The store and deli aren't the only things that have impressed his customers. "They like the cleanliness of the store," he said.
The store is open seven days a week from 7:30 AM - 9:00 PM. , and the deli is open from 9:30 AM - 7:00 PM daily.
For more information, visit the Warrenton Country Store & Deli Facebook page or call 706-699-3742.
